First Leg Done

Hello from Amsterdam!

We are very happy to be here and we are waiting as patiently as possible to get on the next plane to Memphis.

This past weekend we did a lot of walking and taking in the sights in Almaty. As you read in our last post, the flight from Pavlodar was a little rough. But the stay in Hotel Kazzhol was great. The first day in Almaty we went to the doctor and had a good checkup. Az was given good remarks from the doctor who said the he tought this was a healthy little boy.

The rest of the week was waiting on the next thing to do and basically eating. When Friday got here we found out that we had to leave the hotel because they were booked. We moved into an apartment close to Silk Way, which is a nice area for artists, musicians and shopping. My wife was in heaven.

The weekend went a little slower than we expected but we made it to Monday morning without any hitches. The first flight from Almaty to Amsterdam went really well. Az got a belly full of bananas and oatmeal and he played really well. He also took about a 2 hour nap which helped mom and dad a bunch.

We grabed some snacks in the airport and now they are calling us for the security check to go to the next station. We are looking forward to coming down the terminal in Memphis and seeing all our family and friends.

After we get home and setteled I will do another post to wrap up our trip.

Thanks to everyone who has followed along and kept up the great prayers for us.

Sincerely,

David, Amy and Will

Hello David, Amy & Az!

What wonderful news to wake up to, our children are almost home!!! We are so glad this flight has been easier and that Az has found a special comfort in being your little boy! Can't wait until this afternoon. It will be hard to concentrate on work today, knowing you are almost here! We will be praying for you as you make this last leg of the journey. Rick will be at the firehouse and wishes he could be with us to greet and welcome you home too! But, hopefully he will get to see you all in the next few days! Rebekah and I will be at the airport along with the others to welcome you back home to MEMPHIS at last! See you soon! Hugs & Kisses!

Love, Mom, Rick & Rebekah

I was so excited to hear from you all again that I woke Mickey up and read the message to him. Of course he didn't mind hearing that you are safe and in Amsterdam which means just a few more short hours you will finally be home. We are glad to hear Will is doing better flying now. That will help on the long flight from Amsterdam to here. Mickey and I will be riding to the airport with Payton and Mandy. We will join all the others to welcome you home and meet our new grandson. Can't wait!!!
Lots of love,
Pat

Praise God! You are finally on your way home. Fr. Timby prayed for the three of you yesterday and asked everyone to pray for a safe return home. I can't wait to see you at the Airport. I will be watching your flight on "flight tacker" tracking your journey home. I'm so excited I can hardly sit still.
Love, hugs and kisses

David and Amy -
what wonderful parents you will be. It's been great keeping up with
your journey here - I know you're mom is relieved to know you are almost home. I sent Michael to camp today (driving himself) and that's stressing me out, I just can't imagine them being so far away for so long.
Welcome home - and I do look forward to recieving pictures from your Dad -

Enjoy every minute -

so, there is light at the end of that tunnel that people talk so much about. :) I heard Daughtry's song the other day and thought it fit you guys perfectly. his lyrics said..."I'm coming home, to the place where I belong and love doesn't cost a thing!" Let us know if you see Elvis along the way!

safe journey....
Rikki

Welcome home!!!! We were all very excited to see you 3 today at the airport. What a beautiful sight that was. I'm sorry Will was sick but now he is home safe and sound with Momma and Poppa to take special good care of him. We will see you soon. Get some rest and enjoy being home with that precious son. Call if you ever need a baby sitter. We're here for you.

We love you endlessly,
Dad and Pat
